Marc Marquez announced he will cut his summer holiday short to concentrate on regaining strength in his recovering arm and shoulder. Speaking at World Ducati Week in Misano, the reigning champion said the upcoming Sachsenring round – his most successful circuit with nine premier‑class wins – will be his last chance to manage his fitness before the season’s summer pause. He added that the bike, team and his mindset are all in place, and he will push for a podium finish.
After missing the Catalunya race for follow‑up nerve surgery, Marquez rebounded with wins at Balaton Park and Brno, yet remains 40 points behind new leader Jorge Martin. The championship leader board still lists Martin, Marco Bezzecchi, Fabio di Giannantonio and Ai Ogura as capable of overtaking him before the break. Team‑mate Pecco Bagnaia, who will join Aprilia next season, said the Italian outfit “has the advantage” and is “recovering” well, expecting clearer signs in three to four races.

The MotoGP summer break runs from the end of the German round until the Silverstone event on 7‑9 August. Marquez sits fifth in the standings, while Bagnaia is eighth, 63 points adrift, both hoping to improve their positions before the hiatus.
