The US Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Center announced that a maritime blockade on Iran will be enforced starting Tuesday. The blockade will cover all of Iran's ports, oil terminals, and coastal areas, and will apply to all vessel traffic regardless of flag.
Any vessel suspected of entering or departing the blockaded area without authorization may be intercepted, diverted, or captured.
Neutral transit through the Strait of Hormuz to or from non-Iranian destinations will be allowed, the center said.
