The Atlantic has created a searchable database of music used to train AI models. The database contains millions of tracks, including those from popular artists like Lady Gaga and Radiohead.
The datasets were uncovered by Atlantic reporter Alex Reisner and are now available for public search. Two of the datasets contain 12 million and 9 million tracks, respectively, while the other two have over 100,000 songs each.
The use of these datasets raises concerns about copyright and licensing, as some of the music is available for personal use but requires licensing for commercial applications. The Atlantic's AI Watchdog site allows users to search through the songs and other media being used to train AI models.
