SpaceX has big plans for orbital data centers, envisioning a constellation of 1 million satellites. These satellites will generate 120 GW to power tens of millions of GPUs for data center services.
The company's founder, Elon Musk, revealed the plans months ago, but details about the satellites were scarce until recently.
In a promotional video, Musk and Ian Dahl, director of satellite engineering, discussed the development of the first iteration of an orbital data center, called an AI1 satellite, providing insight into the satellite's size and power capabilities.
