Emergent, an Indian AI coding startup, has secured $130 million in a Series C funding round, valuing the company at $1.5 billion. This marks a five-fold increase in valuation over the past six months. The funding round was led by Creaegis, with participation from new investors MNI Ventures-Claypond, Sentinel Global, and existing backers Khosla Ventures and SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2.
Emergent is targeting entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized companies, offering a production-grade application for serious builders. The startup has reached an annual run-rate revenue of $120 million and has over 200,000 paying customers. Its focus on small businesses and entrepreneurs puts it in direct competition with Replit.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate product development and research, including improving the success rate of applications built on its platform. Emergent is also considering opening an office in Europe, where it is seeing significant customer traction.
