Rally Paraguay’s penultimate stage was cancelled after Takamoto Katsuta rolled his GR Yaris in a high-speed corner, striking a telegraph pole before coming to rest upside down.
Katsuta and co-driver Aaron Johnston were taken to hospital for precautionary checks. The violent crash forced officials to abandon the stage entirely, leaving only the final stage of the event intact.
The incident follows a pattern of safety concerns at the event, with organisers yet to confirm whether the final stage will proceed as scheduled.
