McLaren’s technical team arrived in Italy with fresh evidence that their recent upgrades work. At Zandvoort, the team introduced a new rear wing, revised engine cover, diffuser tweaks, and front wheel rims—each designed to improve downforce independently. Technical director Neil Houldey emphasized the parts weren’t bundled as a package, meaning each component contributes its own performance gain.
The upgrades coincided with Lando Norris securing back-to-back Grand Prix wins from pole position. The double success in consecutive races underscored the effectiveness of the changes, though the team stopped short of framing them as a single cohesive update.
With Monza next on the calendar, the question is whether McLaren can maintain momentum. The Italian Grand Prix will test whether these incremental gains translate into a sustained advantage over rivals.
