Richard Childress Racing has officially paired Chandler Smith and Carson Brown for the NASCAR O’Reilly Series, a partnership three years in the making. Division operations head Danny Lawrence confirmed the tandem was a deliberate, long-term goal discussed with COO Mike Dillon long before Brown joined the team.
Lawrence described the pairing as a surprise-worthy move, hinting at the careful planning behind Brown’s recruitment. The announcement solidifies Smith’s position in RCR’s O’Reilly Series lineup and marks a strategic shift for the organization’s driver strategy.
The team has not detailed race-by-race plans, but the move signals RCR’s confidence in the Smith-Brown combination for the upcoming season.
