Zak O’Sullivan will become the youngest driver on the Formula E grid next season after signing with Envision Racing for the Gen4 era. The 21-year-old leaves his two-year stint in Japan’s Super Formula and Super GT to join Maximilian Günther as the team’s new lineup.
O’Sullivan tested the Gen4 car at Estoril alongside Jaguar drivers Antonio Félix da Costa and Stoffel Vandoorne, marking his first extended run with Envision since joining their junior programme in early 2025. The team also confirmed its power unit supplier will remain Jaguar for Gen4, with Buemi transitioning to a consultancy role while continuing occasional testing.
Envision’s sweeping driver changes follow two underwhelming seasons, dropping from 2023 champions to seventh place in 2025. Managing director Sylvain Filippi cited the need for a fresh approach after the team won just one race in Monaco last year. Günther, signed in July, and O’Sullivan will officially be unveiled next month as the team also prepares to open its expanded Silverstone headquarters featuring a new Dynisma simulator.
