Jorge Martin entered the German Grand Prix weekend aware that his season‑long winless run could jeopardise his championship lead. The MotoGP points leader described the situation as a “miniature victory drought” and said staying optimistic was becoming difficult.
The only victory he has secured this year came at the French Grand Prix in May, a win that had briefly positioned Aprilia as a contender for the 2026 title challenge. Since then, Martin has struggled to replicate that form, though he did manage to advance into Saturday’s Q2 session, showing he still possesses qualifying speed.
With the Sachsenring race looming, Martin must translate his qualifying pace into a podium finish to sustain his points advantage and keep Aprilia’s title hopes alive. All eyes will be on his performance in the qualifying heats and the race itself as the championship narrative unfolds.
