Charles Leclerc has won the British Grand Prix, ending his winless streak that dated back to the 2024 COTA race. The victory came after a chaotic finish involving a safety car. Kimi Antonelli, who was in a strong position to win, suffered a bodywork failure that dropped him out of the points.
Leclerc built an early lead, with Lewis Hamilton acting as a buffer in the early running. However, Hamilton's day was marked by tyre trouble and a five-second penalty for moving before the start.
The late stages of the race were marked by a series of incidents, including a virtual safety car and a crash for Max Verstappen. The safety car was eventually withdrawn, and the race finished under caution, much to the disappointment of the Silverstone fans.
