Daniel Dye’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut lasted just 27 laps at Daytona before a last-lap crash forced him to retire in 38th place.
The incident capped a chaotic weekend for Dye, who had just finalized a multi-year, full-time deal with Jordan Anderson Racing. He also competed in the NASCAR Cup race the same weekend, splitting focus between two series.
The crash occurred late in the O’Reilly race, ending Dye’s run before he could build on his momentum from the Cup event.
