The USS George Washington and its carrier wing participated in a sinking exercise, sending a decommissioned amphibious transport dock ship to the bottom of the Philippine Sea. The exercise, part of Valiant Shield 2026, involved air, surface, and subsurface assets in coordinated strikes.
Meanwhile, the USS Theodore Roosevelt arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, ahead of the biennial exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026. The USS Nimitz joined 25 other ships for a fleet formation photo exercise in the Atlantic Ocean as part of the inaugural Fleet Exercise (FLEETEX) 250.

The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and USS Carl Vinson are also underway, conducting carrier qualifications and training, respectively. Two aircraft carriers, the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush, remain on station in the Middle East, conducting flight operations.
