The C-2 Greyhound has made its final landing aboard a carrier, ending nearly 60 years of providing logistics services to the US Navy. The last flight took place last week on the USS Nimitz.
The C-2's carrier onboard delivery role has been turned over to the CMV-22 Osprey. Although the Greyhounds will no longer land on carriers, they will continue flying until later this year when they are expected to be fully retired.

The CMV-22B Osprey has been declared Initial Operational Capability since 2021 and is seen as a game-changer by senior Navy officials due to its range, payload capacity, and ability to land on unimproved spaces.
