Turkey is reportedly in talks with Russia over the fate of its S-400 air defense systems. The Turkish government is considering transferring the systems to a Gulf country in a bid to convince the US to lift its F-35 embargo. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia is discussing the issue with Ankara.
The move is seen as an attempt by Turkey to regain access to the F-35 program, which it was removed from in 2019 due to its purchase of the S-400 systems. Turkey's possession of the S-400 remains a sticking point, but the country is willing to give them up to regain access to the F-35.

The transfer of the S-400s could have significant implications for Turkey's military and industrial benefits, as well as its relations with the US and Russia. The US has indicated that it may soften its stance on the issue, but any major defense deal with Turkey is likely to face resistance from US lawmakers.
