The Senate Armed Services Committee is seeking a report from the Pentagon on the feasibility of increasing deliveries of PAC-3 interceptors to Ukraine. This comes amid concerns about the supply of Patriot interceptors, which have been depleted due to usage in recent Middle East conflicts and commitments to Ukraine and other nations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has frequently requested additional interceptors from the US and allies.
The committee wants the Pentagon to assess the current and projected Ukrainian requirements for PAC-3 interceptors, the availability of interceptors from existing US inventories, and options to accelerate production. Lockheed Martin is boosting production of PAC-3 MSE interceptors, but it's unclear how many of the other variants are still being made or are in US stockpiles.

The report is due by October 1, 2026, and the committee wants the Secretary of Defense to brief them on the findings within 15 days of submission. The Pentagon has declined to comment on the committee's report, and Lockheed Martin has warned that it cannot guarantee delivery of Patriot interceptors to US allies despite plans to triple production capacity.
