The US Army's 25th Infantry Division is undergoing significant transformation, with four of its five brigades already changed.
The division's commanding general, Maj. Gen. James Bartholomees, highlighted the importance of new technologies, including longer-range drones and HIMARS, which have greatly extended the formation's reach.
Exercises Balikatan and Salaknib in the Philippines allowed the division to test new tactics and technologies, including the Infantry Squad Vehicle, which has made soldiers more lethal, light, and mobile. The division is also moving to smaller form factors and software-enabled systems, and is one of two divisions conducting Next-Generation Command and Control.
