Today's 4th of July celebration in Washington, D.C. will feature a massive airshow involving waves of fixed and rotary-wing aircraft from across the military. The event, organized by Freedom 250, will include over 30 specific waves of aircraft from almost every branch of the armed forces, minus Space Force.
The airshow will feature a mix of military demonstration teams and aerial parades of the wider American fleet of planes and helicopters. Some of the aircraft are privately owned, such as four F-5s from NASA. The Coast Guard, Army, Navy, and Air Force will all participate in the event, with their respective demonstration teams and fleet reviews.
The airshow will conclude with a nighttime pass by a B-1 bomber and a massive fireworks show, but it's unclear if the weather will impact the planned events. Storms and showers are forecast for the afternoon and early evening, with a triple-digit heat index.
