Peter Diamandis, founder of the Xprize Foundation, believes that global surveillance is a good idea, stating that humans behave better when they are being watched. He envisions a future with radical transparency, where a network of sensors and cameras provides real-time information about everything.
Diamandis' comments come after a podcast interview with Will Marshall, CEO of Planet, the largest operator of Earth-observing satellites. Marshall noted that with such technology, no one can hide, and accountability will be visible to the whole world.
However, Diamandis' views on surveillance have sparked concerns about privacy, with many people pushing back against the rise of surveillance tech. Some cities have covered their Flock cameras, and companies like Meta are facing lawsuits over privacy concerns.
