Many popular smartphones are in their last year of software support, which means they will soon stop receiving security updates. This leaves users' data vulnerable to newly discovered security threats. Manufacturers like Samsung, Google, and Motorola have different support policies, with some models receiving up to seven years of updates, while others get only two or three years.
Samsung models like the Galaxy A14, A54 5G, and S23 series will reach end of life before the end of 2027. Google's Pixel 7 Pro and 7 will also reach end of life in October 2027. Motorola's support policy is more limited, with most models receiving only two or three years of security updates.

Apple's support policy is different, with iPhones typically receiving iOS updates for five to seven years after launch. However, older models like the iPhone SE, 11, and 11 Pro may get their final update with iOS 27. If your phone is nearing end of support, it's essential to keep updating your apps, avoid unsecured public Wi-Fi networks, and be cautious when installing new apps or clicking on links.
