Pinwheel has launched Pinwheel Home, a kid-focused landline phone that encourages meaningful conversations and independence. The device operates over Wi-Fi and comes in two models, starting at $68. Parents can control the device through the Caregiver Portal, approving contacts and setting calling schedules.
The launch comes as parents seek to reduce their children's screen time, with studies linking excessive screen time to emotional and social challenges. Pinwheel Home joins other screen-free communication products for kids, competing with devices like Tin Can.

The device is available now through the company's website and is expected to launch on Amazon this fall. Calls between Pinwheel Home devices are free, with plans starting at $6.99 per month for standard phone number calls.
