NASA's Deep Space Network was pushed to its limits during the Artemis I mission, struggling to keep up with the demands of 40 robotic science missions and the Orion space capsule.
The network faced similar challenges with the Artemis II mission, which had a higher appetite for data due to its crew of four.
However, the shorter duration of the Artemis II mission and fewer CubeSats helped alleviate the communications overload, allowing the Deep Space Network to perform well.
