Microsoft has announced the launch of Microsoft Frontier, a new operating business focused on delivering successful enterprise AI deployments. The project will be backed by a $2.5 billion investment from Microsoft and 6,000 industry and engineering experts.
The venture will utilize Microsoft's existing AI tools and has already partnered with several major companies, including the London Stock Exchange Group, Unilever, and Accenture. Microsoft's Commercial Business CEO Judson Althoff emphasized that this effort goes beyond traditional Forward-Deployed Engineering models.
The move comes as other major tech companies, including Amazon Web Services, OpenAI, and Anthropic, have also launched similar AI deployment ventures in recent months. Microsoft's existing client base is expected to give the new effort a significant head start.
