Meta’s experimental Pocket app, designed to let users create and share small interactive games through AI prompts, has launched for all U.S. users. The app, which began testing in Brazil last month, generates “gizmos”—tiny games that respond to touch, phone tilt, sound effects, and even clips from your music library or photos from your camera roll. Players can share these creations on their profiles, where others can save, remix, or repost them.
Pocket joins Meta’s growing lineup of standalone AI-powered apps, including Meta AI for images and videos, Instagram Instants, and a Groups app called Forum. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has tied the surge in new releases to AI-enabled software development, which he says accelerates testing and deployment of experimental features. During July’s earnings call, he noted that Meta plans to build more apps and use its recommendation systems to scale them.
The app’s rollout reflects Meta’s broader push to mainstream AI creation tools, positioning Pocket as a lightweight, social gaming platform where creativity and sharing take center stage.
