Emad Dlala, a top executive at Lucid Motors, has departed the company just months after being promoted to a leading role. Dlala's exit is the first major executive departure since Silvio Napoli took over as CEO in April. Napoli, who joined from Schindler Group, has begun a transformation of the company's organization to accelerate innovation and strengthen execution.
As part of this transformation, Lucid Motors' vice president of vehicle engineering and vice president of software will now report directly to Napoli. Dlala had been with the company for over a decade and was one of its longest-serving employees and executives.
The departure comes ahead of the launch of Lucid Motors' first mass-market vehicle, Cosmos, which is expected to start below $50,000 and provide a more affordable option for customers. The company has been in flux in recent months, with layoffs and a search for a new CEO following the sudden departure of Peter Rawlinson in 2025.
