Instagram is finally letting everyone reorganize their profile grid. The feature, announced nearly a year ago, is now rolling out widely via the Android and iPhone mobile apps.
Until now, posts on Instagram profiles have been locked in chronological order, with the ability to pin three posts at the top. However, with this update, users can long-press and drag posts freely, regardless of their age.
The change was announced by Instagram boss Adam Mosseri in January of last year, as an apology to users whose profile pages were affected by the switch from square thumbnails to taller, more vertically oriented ones. The update is now live, allowing users to customize their profile grid as desired.
