Ikea and Xbox have teamed up to launch a nine-piece gaming collection that blends functional home furnishings with Xbox design language. Revealed at Gamescom, the Yxstaby range includes a charging side table, a rollable TV stand, and a toolbox that doubles as a laptop stand, all aimed at integrating gaming into living spaces without clutter.
The standout piece is a thumbstick-shaped stool, developed after Ikea designer David Wahl secured Xbox’s original 3D design files. Inspired by an existing Ikea office stool, the prototype won over Xbox’s design team during a workshop, leading to refinements in materials and ergonomics to balance comfort and the controller’s iconic shape.

Hidden Easter eggs, including a ‘Hej from Älmhult’ message, add playful touches to the collection, which arrives in stores and online this fall. Xbox’s Carl Ledbetter hinted at more ideas in development, though no details were shared.
