The European Commission announced Monday that OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Reddit, and Roblox must comply with the EU Digital Services Act as so-called very large online platforms. The designation imposes stricter obligations, including removing illegal content and safeguarding minors’ privacy and security.
Each platform now faces potential fines of up to 6 percent of global revenue for noncompliance. The move reflects Brussels’ effort to adapt existing digital regulations to rapidly evolving AI and gaming services.
