Google is expanding its AI Mode to handle more of the travel-planning process directly. Users can now ask the tool to track flight prices, book hotels, and see costs in points or miles. The updates shift AI Mode from a search assistant to a hands-on travel agent.
Flight price tracking covers over 300 airlines and travel sites in 180 countries. Travelers can request price drops and receive email alerts when fares change. Hotel booking is rolling out in the U.S. first, with partners including Marriott, Hilton, and Expedia, and will expand globally in the coming weeks.
Bookings are completed through Google Pay with the partner handling customer service. Users can also ask for flight costs in miles, such as for American Airlines trips, and see exact mileage requirements for available options.
