Genki has launched the Manta controller on Kickstarter, a device designed from the ground up with deep customization at its core. The controller features a 2.9-inch LCD screen and adjustable thumbsticks and buttons, allowing players to tailor its feel and functionality to individual games. Early backers can secure the Manta for $189, with a planned retail price of $279.
The Manta stands out with its extensive settings interface, powered by a Raspberry Pi RP2350 microcontroller. Players can create and switch between multiple console, game, and user profiles, adjust thumbstick response, remap buttons, and set up custom macros. It also introduces "tristage triggers" for racing or FPS games, offering three distinct modes for varied playstyles.
Additional features include linear magnetic ram motors for haptic feedback, drift-resistant thumbsticks, a 2,600mAh replaceable battery, and six back-mounted remappable buttons. The controller supports Bluetooth, a 2.4GHz dongle for low-latency use, and direct USB-C console connection, including a dedicated keyboard and mouse mode.
