Flipkart’s quick-commerce service Minutes is delivering 1.1 million to 1.2 million orders per day, up from roughly 400,000 in November 2024, according to sources familiar with the matter. The surge brings Flipkart close to Swiggy’s Instamart, which handles about 1.4 million daily orders, and far ahead of earlier projections for the late entrant.
The growth follows an aggressive expansion of Flipkart’s delivery network, with Minutes now operating 1,020 to 1,050 micro-fulfillment centers—up from 600 in January and 340 a year ago. The company plans to add 100 more each month, targeting 1,500 by the end of 2026. Minutes also boasts an average delivery time of 11 minutes, down from 13 minutes a year ago, while repeat customers now account for 65% to 70% of monthly buyers.
Flipkart’s push comes as quick-commerce reshapes India’s online shopping habits, even amid broader consumer slowdowns. Competitors like Amazon are also expanding their instant-delivery services, with Amazon Now doubling orders every quarter since launch and aiming for over 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers. Analysts warn that e-commerce giants risk losing grocery sales to specialized quick-commerce platforms if they can’t match the speed.
