The FBI has created a simulated town, known as the Kinetic Cyber Range, to train agents in responding to cyberattacks. The 22,000 square-foot facility includes a hotel, gas station, hospital, and data center, all of which are connected and can be used to simulate real-world scenarios.
The facility is designed to allow students to practice performing forensic investigations on various systems, including car entertainment systems and hospital computer networks.
The FBI has only recently shared a video of the facility, giving the public its first glimpse inside. The range is a key part of the bureau's efforts to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.
