Evotrex, a two-year-old startup, has closed a $30 million Series A funding round to develop its hybrid RV travel trailers. The company plans to build and sell around 1,000 units annually, starting next year.
The funding will be used to finish building and testing its RV, which features a battery pack that can be recharged with an onboard gas engine. This approach, known as an extended range electric vehicle (EREV), aims to create an RV that can let people live off the grid for extended periods.
Evotrex has already validated a functional version of its first RV and is prioritizing durability testing over the next 10 to 12 months. The company plans to manufacture its RVs in China and complete final assembly in California, with a focus on supporting customers and delivering a high-quality product.
