Bose has announced the creation of Bose Studios, a media company that includes a record label, movie studio, and podcast network. The company's CMO, Jim Mollica, stated that the goal is to move away from traditional marketing and create a library of music for use in Bose commercials.
The record label, Bose Records, aims to help underappreciated or new artists, but faces competition from independent labels. Mollica emphasized that the company won't own the artists' masters or take a share of their revenue.
However, the lack of focus and experience in the media industry raises concerns about the venture's success. With plans to launch a movie studio, podcast network, and live event production company, Bose Studios may be spreading itself too thin.
