Apple has announced that developers in Brazil can distribute their iOS apps through alternative app stores and process payments for digital goods and services outside the App Store.
This change is part of Apple's agreement with Brazil's competition regulator, Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica, and marks another shift in Apple's control over the iOS app ecosystem.

The updates in Brazil's market will include new protections, such as a notarization process for iOS apps distributed outside the App Store and authorization requirements for alternative app marketplaces. Developers in Brazil will need to agree to the latest update of the license agreement by July 6, 2026.
