Anthropic and Blackstone have launched Ode, a $1.5 billion AI implementation company. Ode will assist businesses in deploying AI models, a move that underscores the growing importance of effective AI implementation in the enterprise sector. The company was originally conceived by Blackstone, which noticed a gap in AI implementation services.
Ode will operate under a 'Claude-first' principle, implementing Anthropic's technology whenever possible, but will also use rival AI products if needed. The company's leaders have ambitious goals, with CEO Chris Taylor stating that it's 'pretty easy to imagine this as a trillion-dollar company someday if we execute well.'
Ode currently employs 100 engineers and works closely with Anthropic's applied AI team to identify areas where AI can have an impact on different businesses. The company will compete with OpenAI's The Deployment Company and consulting giants like Deloitte and Accenture.
