Connor Zilisch’s rookie NASCAR Cup season suffered another setback at Las Vegas when he crashed out after 222 laps while running the No. 88 Trackhouse Chevrolet.
The incident came only days after Hendrick Motorsports announced Zilisch as its 2028 Cup driver for the No. 48 Chevrolet, a move that had marked a major career milestone for the sole Rookie of the Year contender.
Zilisch’s ninth DNF of the season underscores the challenges he faces balancing development with consistent finishes as he chases the top rookie honor.
