Cosmobilis, a French automotive company, and private credit investor Park Square Capital have taken over WRC Promoter GmbH, the commercial rights holder for the World Rally Championship. The acquisition, described as the biggest deal in the series’ history, signals a push to expand the championship’s reach and appeal.
The new owners plan to grow the WRC by attracting more manufacturers and broadening rallying’s audience. While specifics remain under wraps, the focus includes increasing global visibility and engaging new fans. The move follows the recent shift in commercial control, which aims to modernize the championship’s business model.
With the deal now finalized, attention turns to how these changes will reshape the WRC’s competitive landscape and fan engagement strategies.
