Maverick Vinales told the Spanish press at the Sachsenring that he now feels "like a stranger" within the Tech3 KTM team, adding that the support he needs is being replaced by criticism. The 10‑time MotoGP winner finished the sprint race last‑place and retired from the main race after struggling with his fitness, underscoring his frustration.
The rider revealed that a contract he signed to stay with Tech3 was later declared void by KTM, after the manufacturer reversed its earlier decision to promote him to the factory squad for 2027. Compounding the dispute, Vinales is still coping with a shoulder injury sustained in Germany last season; his surgeon warned he won’t be fully fit until the Indonesian Grand Prix in October.

Looking ahead, Vinales said he may spend the summer training in Austria with Red Bull and is even considering consulting the doctors who have treated Marc Márquez for his own arm issues. The ongoing tension and recovery timeline leave his 2026 season and future with Tech3 uncertain, a storyline to monitor as the championship progresses.
