Raul Fernandez has credited clarity over his MotoGP future for his recent podium form. The Spaniard secured his second consecutive podium at the Sachsenring, despite riding with a painful back injury. Fernandez's future at the Trackhouse Aprilia team looked uncertain earlier this season, but he has given a timely reminder of his talents with a Sprint win at Mugello and a historic one-two at Assen with team-mate Ai Ogura.
Fernandez is set to be partnered by Enea Bastianini at Trackhouse for the new 850cc/Pirelli era, following Ogura's departure to the factory Yamaha team. The Spaniard heads into the summer break sixth in the world championship, 49 points behind factory Aprilia rider Jorge Martin.

Fernandez remains hopeful of a title challenge, saying 'until the numbers say no, we will try'. However, he acknowledges that there are still areas for improvement, and he will focus on working on those during the break.
