Toprak Razgatlıoğlu delivered one of his strongest Friday performances at the Hungarian MotoGP, yet he missed the automatic Qualifying 2 slot. In the opening practice he was the fastest Yamaha rider, ending the session in tenth place, but teammate Jack Miller snatched the final top‑ten position, pushing both Fabio Quartararo and Razgatlıoğlu out of the direct Q2 progression.
Razgatlıoğlu said the Balaton circuit suits his riding style, but the first sector, especially the opening corner, feels like a new surface with virtually no grip. He noted that the front wheel locks under straight‑line braking and that Michelin tyres struggle on the track, whereas Pirelli compounds allow harder braking. A newly fitted soft rear tyre is also causing rear‑push, reducing his ability to turn and stop, a contrast to the medium tyres he prefers.

The rider believes the team has improved since the Mugello round, where Yamaha’s weaknesses were exposed on long straights. He now aims to post a faster lap in Qualifying 1 to secure a place in Q2, hoping the tyre balance issues can be mitigated before the next session.
