French MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo confirmed he is still interested in getting behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car after a planned private test with Mercedes fell through. The rider had been slated to drive one of Mercedes' recent title‑winning machines in a closed‑track session at the end of 2022, shortly after he captured his first MotoGP crown with Yamaha.
The proposed test was linked to shared sponsorship between Mercedes and Yamaha at the time, but the arrangement never materialised. Quartararo said he remains keen to experience an F1 car and hopes another opportunity may arise, though no new timetable has been announced.
