Qatar’s motor-sport federation says preparations for the 2026 Formula 1 and MotoGP rounds in the country are proceeding as planned, despite the escalating conflict between the US and Iran.
The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) confirmed that both the F1 Qatar Grand Prix (scheduled for 27–29 November) and the MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix (6–8 November) remain on the calendar. Earlier this year, F1 moved its Bahrain Grand Prix to Malaysia due to regional instability, while the fate of Qatar’s races has been uncertain. The QMMF president, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai, stated that the federation is “up and running” and cannot halt preparations, though the fluid situation leaves room for last-minute changes.
The FIA World Endurance Championship already canceled its planned Qatar and Bahrain rounds in 2026, shifting them to Barcelona and Monza. Qatar will instead host the WEC season opener in March 2027 at Lusail.
