Jorge Martin has extended his MotoGP world championship lead despite finishing sixth in the Sachsenring Sprint race. However, his advantage has narrowed, with Fabio di Giannantonio now just 13 points behind after taking third place. Ai Ogura is 23 points off the lead, while Sprint winner Marc Marquez is 32 points back.
Marco Bezzecchi, who missed the race due to a collarbone injury, could drop to fifth after Sunday's grand prix. Martin, di Giannantonio, and Ogura all have a mathematical chance of leading the championship by the end of the weekend.

The standings are now more competitive than ever, setting up an exciting conclusion to the weekend's racing.
