MotoGP has introduced a new starting grid layout, which will be used for the first time in the Sachsenring Sprint race. The revised format maintains the usual 3 riders per row but increases the distance between each rider and row.
Previously, each rider on a row was offset by a 3-meter vertical gap. The new layout raises this gap to 4 meters, with a 12-meter distance between each row. This change aims to improve safety and applies to Moto3 and Moto2 classes as well.

The introduction of the new grid layout is the second change to MotoGP starts in as many events, following the ban on front holeshot devices from Assen. The revised grid is part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety in the sport.
