Austrian DTM pilot Maximilian Paul has been released from the Nuremberg hospital and is heading home to begin his recovery, team principal Gottfried Grasser confirmed to Motorsport‑Total.com.
The crash occurred on Saturday at the Norisring, where Paul suffered a fractured tibia and fibula along with a lumbar vertebra fracture. The injuries were described as serious, prompting an immediate hospital stay for treatment and observation.
While the driver’s condition remains serious, his discharge signals a positive step toward rehabilitation. The team has not detailed a timeline for his return to competition, but Paul’s recovery will be closely monitored as the DTM season progresses.
