Honda Racing Corporation US President David Salters apologized to Marcus Armstrong and Meyer Shank Racing after a mechanical failure cost Armstrong his first IndyCar victory.
Armstrong held a 2.7s lead with less than four laps to go when his #66 Meyer Shank Racing Honda suddenly slowed.
The failure allowed Christian Lundgaard to overtake Armstrong, ending his chance at a maiden win.
The apology from Salters acknowledges the disappointment and 'failure' that occurred, showing HRC US's commitment to performance and reliability
