Genesis Magma Racing will take its GMR‑001 hypercar to the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the first time a Korean marque has entered the century‑old endurance classic. The team will run the full 13.626‑km Circuit de la Sarthe, where speed and reliability are tested for a full day and night.
Built to LMDh regulations, the GMR‑001 uses an Oreca chassis paired with a 3.2‑litre twin‑turbo V8 delivering roughly 690 hp. The driver roster features seasoned Le Mans winners Andre Lotterer and Pipo Derani, alongside newcomer Mathys Jaubert, giving the squad a blend of experience and fresh talent.

Le Mans awards double championship points and remains the premier test of endurance engineering, a backdrop that Genesis hopes to leverage as it also unveiled a concept GT3 car, the Magma GT3, hinting at a longer‑term multi‑class program.

With the Hypercar field already packed with manufacturers such as Ferrari, Toyota and Porsche, Genesis’ performance will be closely watched. Success could cement the brand’s motorsport credibility and set the stage for further entries across the World Endurance Championship.
