Formula E is set to introduce a significant shake-up in its race format for the Gen4 era, with the introduction of specific sprint and feature race formats. The new format, dubbed 'E-Prix unleashed', will feature shorter races with a focus on performance, while traditional races will emphasize energy management.
The new format will be implemented across eight double-header events, with the first event taking place in Jeddah this December. The Gen4 cars are expected to be at least 7-8 seconds per lap faster than the current Gen3 Evo package, and will utilize higher-downforce specification bodykits to showcase their power and performance.

The reaction from teams and drivers has been cautiously optimistic, with many praising the direction taken by the FIA and Formula E. However, concerns remain about the ability of some tracks to contain the Gen4 cars, and the potential for massive shunts.
