Ferrari announced it will introduce a power‑unit upgrade at this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix, following a sizable car overhaul in Barcelona and Lewis Hamilton’s breakthrough win for the Scuderia. The team said the new specification is part of the 2026 ADUO (Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities) allowance, allowing rapid, incremental gains.
Technical director Enrico Gualtieri described the update as a relatively minor step derived from recent development work, emphasizing the parallel long‑term and short‑term programmes that feed each other. He stressed that the change reflects Ferrari’s “continuous improvement” mindset, but warned that a single upgrade will not reshuffle the championship hierarchy on its own.

Ferrari currently sit second in the Constructors’ standings with 190 points, trailing Mercedes’ 262, while driver Charles Leclerc (or Hamilton, depending on context) remains second in the Drivers’ table. The team hopes the Austrian upgrade will sustain momentum and demonstrate its ability to extract performance gains race by race.
